Safe Heating and Cooling Service in Cheney

When your furnace, AC, heat pump or ductless mini-split stops working right, we fix it or put in a new one. Before we call any job done, we check gas lines, venting and wiring. We work in Cheney, Medical Lake and Airway Heights, and we want your home comfortable and safe to live in.

What Sets the Price

No two homes are set up quite the same, so we see the system before we give a number. These are the things that usually raise or lower a job's cost.

Installation and replacement estimates are free. Repairs begin with a diagnostic visit, and that fee is taken off your repair bill if we do the work.

Fix it or replace it
Swapping a worn capacitor or igniter is a minor job. A dead compressor or cracked heat exchanger usually means looking at new equipment.
What kind and how big
Heat pumps, high-efficiency gas furnaces and single-zone mini-splits each come at a different price. We match the size to your house so you don't pay for capacity you won't use.
How easy the unit is to reach
Work in a cramped attic or crawlspace takes more time than work in an open basement. Outdoor units on a slope or in a crowded spot need more setup.
Gas and electrical upgrades
An older house may need a new gas shutoff, its own circuit or a new disconnect to meet code. These show up in the quote up front, never as a later surprise.
Permit and inspection
Most installations call for a permit and an inspection. We pull it ourselves and list it in your written quote.
Heat pump rebates
Avista rebates and federal tax credits can cut the true cost of a heat pump. We help you file so you collect the money you qualify for.

Heating and Cooling Work We Do

We handle furnace repair, AC repair, heat pumps, ductless mini-splits and full furnace or AC installation, plus maintenance plans and emergency HVAC repair when something quits at a bad hour. We are registered with the state under WA Contractor Registration #KDHEAHA757JA, and we hold a Gas heating mechanical license, so the gas side of your furnace is handled by people allowed to work on it. New installations come with up to 3 years labor. We also take on commercial HVAC and new construction HVAC jobs.

About HVAC Cheney

We are a small heating and cooling company working out of Cheney. We fix and install the equipment that keeps your home comfortable through cold winters and hot, dry summers.

The way we work is simple. Shut things off before opening them up, test before leaving, and tell you the truth about what we find. A furnace that runs but leaks carbon monoxide is worse than one that does not run at all, so safety checks are part of every call, not an extra.

We do not charge emergency or after-hours fees. If your heat goes out at night, the price is the same as it would be in the afternoon.

Safety Steps on Every Visit

Your heating system burns gas and draws high-voltage power. We work with that in mind from the moment we arrive until the final test.

Carbon monoxide testing

Every gas furnace call includes a look at the flue and heat exchanger and a CO reading in the air near the unit. A cracked exchanger or blocked vent gets pointed out to you directly, so you can see it too. We won't leave equipment running that we believe is unsafe.

Breaker and gas shut off first

Before working inside any unit, we turn off the breaker and close the gas valve. At the end, we bring everything back on step by step and watch it start.

A written price up front

You get the parts, labor and total on paper before any tools come out. If something new turns up during the job, we pause and check with you before adding it.

Straight talk on repair or replace

When fixing it is the smart move, we tell you. When the unit is close to done and the repair would cost more than it's worth, we explain our reasons and leave the choice to you.

We leave your house clean

Drop cloths go down, shoe covers go on, and old parts leave with us. Used filters and packaging ride out in our truck.

Common Questions From Homeowners

Something not covered here? (509) 309-8324

Do quotes really cost nothing?

They do for installations and replacements, and the price is on paper before we begin. Repairs start with a diagnostic fee. Go ahead with the repair through us and that fee counts toward it.

Is a night or weekend call more expensive?

It isn't. We have no emergency or after-hours fees, and emergency HVAC repair runs day and night at our regular rates.

What tells me my furnace isn't safe?

Watch for a yellow or wavering burner flame, soot around the furnace, a sharp odor, or headaches that clear up once you step out of the house. If the carbon monoxide alarm sounds, get everyone outdoors and call the gas utility first. When it is safe again, we can test the furnace and track down the cause.

Is it better to fix my AC or furnace, or buy a new one?

That comes down to how old the unit is, which part broke and how often it has been in for repairs. We put the repair price next to the replacement price and tell you which we would pick if it were our house. You make the call.

What does your warranty cover?

Every repair comes with a 1-year labor warranty. New installations have separate labor coverage, and your quote lays out the terms.

Will you help me get heat pump rebates?

We will, and the money is worth chasing. We help you file for Avista rebates and the federal tax credits that cover heat pumps, and we list the model numbers, invoices and forms to hold on to so nothing slips through.

Can I sign up for a maintenance plan?

You can. Plans come with tune-ups, discounts on repairs and priority scheduling. The yearly tune-up is also our chance to spot worn parts and gas or venting trouble before your system breaks down.

What to Expect on a Job

Nearly every visit follows the same path, so you always know where things stand.

  1. 1

    Give us a call

Describe what the system is doing and roughly how old it is. We book a time that suits you, or treat it as an emergency if you have no heat or cooling and it can't wait.

  2. 2

We look it over and test

We examine the unit, its gas and electrical connections and the venting, then walk you through what we saw, with photos when that helps.

  3. 3

    The quote goes on paper

Before anything starts, we write out the work and its cost. You choose, and nobody pushes you.

  4. 4

    We finish and test

Once the repair or install is done, we run the system through a complete cycle. On gas equipment we check again for leaks and carbon monoxide before we head out.
